Basically Baroque
Featuring

Keon Birney on French Horn
performing

Mozart's third horn concert in E-flat Major (K 447)

Picture
Keon Birney
Although he is a relatively new resident of Nanaimo, Keon Birney has been a core member of the Vancouver Island Symphony for the past sixteen years. Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Keon Birney moved to the lower mainland soon after completing his post-secondary education in performance and composition, and has been working as a teacher, performer, and composer ever since. In the past, he has performed with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, and most recently with the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra. His compositions have been performed by several Canadian orchestras such as the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Keon is very excited to perform Mozart’s 3rd Horn Concerto in E-Flat with the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra.
