The Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra will select one soloist or duo to perform a full concerto or a concert piece with the NCO performances on Saturday, June 21st & Sunday, June 22nd, 2024. The winner will also be awarded a monetary prize.

Applicants must:
- be 13 - 21 years of age as of January 1, 2025
- select a concerto or concert piece for solo/duo string, wind or brass instrument, solo piano or solo/duo voice with an accompaniment written for string orchestra only. Orchestral accompaniments requiring additional instruments will not be considered.
- reside in the central or north Vancouver Island area. provide own accompanist for audition.
- demonstrate performance level at or above Royal Conservatory Grade 7. 

Application details:
- 1st stage: applicants' music choice due by January 10th, 2025, or earlier via email to Leslie Krull at [email protected]
- 2nd stage: upon approval of music selection, the full application is due by February 7th, 2025.

Auditions:
- successful applicants will be contacted after February 7th, 2025, to arrange audition times.
- auditions will occur on February 16th, 2025.
- winner(s) must be available for Wednesday evening rehearsals May - June and for performances June 21st & June 22nd, 2025.
