November 26 & 27
Sweet Brass: Suite Strings
Featuring Stevan Paranosic on Trumpet
Nov. 26 - Nanaimo
|
Sweet is a fundamental taste, and taste describes the essence of the musical offering this fall by the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra. “Sweet Brass: Suite Music” is a program which features the talent of Victoria-based trumpet soloist, Stevan Paranosic. As for Suites, the program features Telemann’s Baroque “Don Quixote Suite” and Nielsen’s Late Romantic “Little Suite”. And, true to the NCO’s roots in Early Music, they will play CPE Bach’s “Sinfonia No. 2 in B-flat”. Stevan Paranosic holds a Master’s degree from UBC. He is Principal Trumpet for the Vancouver Island Symphony, plays for the Victoria Symphony on occasion and is a core member of the Festive Brass quartet. Stevan will play two contrasting works: Baroque composer, Henry Purcell’s, “Sonata in D Major” and Armenian, Alexander Arutiunian’s 20th Century, “Elegy”. Nov. 27 - Qualicum Beach
