Max Day on Violin performing J.S. Bach,  Concerto for Violin in E
The programme will also include the music of Handel, Elgar and Bonporti
After studying violin since age four, Max is happy to be performing Bach's second violin concerto as a soloist with the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra, which he has been a member of since 2018. Max currently studies violin with Nick Ross and has played both classical violin and fiddle music, performing in concerts from Victoria to Courtenay with the fiddle group, Fiddelium.

performing W. A. Mozart, Violin Concerto No. 2 in D major K.221
He will also be performing on Trumpet Alan Hovhaness, The Prayer of St. Gregory for Trumpet and Strings

A native of Ottawa, Nicholas Ross studied both violin and trumpet at the University of Ottawa with John Gomez and Pace Sturdevant respectively.  He has extensive professional experience as a member of a number of Canadian orchestras, including the Thunder Bay Symphony, the Ottawa Symphony, Orchestre symphonique de Laval, Charlottetown Festival Orchestra, Sudbury Symphony (Principal Second Violin) and the North Bay Symphony (as Principal Second Violin and Acting Concertmaster).  He performs on a violin made in Toronto by Masa Inokuchi.
